Last november, Google has launched the SEO label “Mobile-friendly”. The search engine, now, indicates on mobile browsers, if your website is optimized for mobile.
What makes a website mobile-friendly?
A page gets the “mobile-friendly” label if :
- There’s no Flash
- Content is readable without zooming
- Users don’t have to scroll horizontally or zoom
- Links are sufficiently distanced from each other
It also means that Google highly encourages Responsive Web Design for SEO reasons : “Google recommends using RWD over other design patterns” (source).
